Light rail has proven to be an excellent mode of transportation for urban environments. Light rail is a clean, efficient, and speedy way to commute locally or to make local connections to major terminals and service. This explains the increasing popularity of light rail systems in many countries. ARCADIS' experience in the area of light rail systems is growing. Already we have been involved the development of several light rail systems in the Netherlands and are exporting these experiences to other countries as well. Our involvement in light rail projects generally includes a broad range of services, starting with feasibility studies all the way through to design and implementation services, such as construction supervision and management. In addition, ARCADIS can play a role in the maintenance phase, assisting clients in keeping their network in optimal operational order.
